Speaker
Our 2024 Keynote Speaker
Effie Sibson
Australian Occupational Therapist
Effie Sibson is an Australian occupational therapist with a passion for innovative and evidence-based neuro rehab, with a focus on rehab of the arm and hand. Effie has trained hundreds of occupational and physiotherapists around the world, while concurrently working as a rehab clinician on a day-to-day basis.
This course is intended for allied health professionals working in the neuro rehab space. It will provide clinicians with a thorough understanding of the current evidence and application of functional electrical stimulation for retraining arm and hand function. In addition, this course will cover the latest in advanced technologies for upper limb neurorehabilitation. The aim of this course is for participants to have the skills and confidence to implement electrical stimulation into their practice immediately upon completion.

Workshop on Electrical Stimulation in Neuro Rehabilitation
Electrical stimulation has emerged as a pivotal tool in neuro rehabilitation, offering targeted therapy to improve motor function and facilitate neuroplasticity. Our comprehensive agenda will delve into various aspects, from understanding different types of electrical stimulation to exploring advanced technologies like robotics as adjuncts to functional training.
Whether you’re new to the field or seeking to deepen your expertise, this program promises practical insights and hands-on learning opportunities. By the end of the session, participants will gain proficiency in prescribing appropriate parameters and mastering electrode placement for optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with leading experts and peers in the field as we navigate the latest advancements in neuro rehabilitation together.
Prerequisite for participants :- It would be beneficial to have a neuromuscular electrical stimulation device with electrodes.
